Advice

At which point in time and to which extent should a firm adopt RFID technology? What short- and medium-term impact is to be expected as far as employees' working conditions and daily lives are concerned? What changes will the new technology cause to the organization's processes and workflows? What are the various elements of an RFID system, and how does one evaluate and select them?

These are but a few of the many questions that come to mind when contemplating the introduction of new RFID based tools. Thanks to its network of competences, the RFID Center is able to provide its partners with invaluable advice as well as with clear answers to all of these questions.

Support

The RFID Center provides global support to organizations considering an RFID project: formalization of needs, business requirements, implementation strategies, systems modeling, etc. It also focuses on the harmonious integration of RFID software components linked within the organization's information technology environment.

The RFID Center is able to supervise the organization of applied research programs in relation to concrete industrial issues. If necessary – and in close collaboration with the HEVs' research institutes, such a program can benefit from the larger context of a CTI (Commission pour la Technologie et l'Innovation – Swiss Technology and Innovation Commission), Eurêka (support initiative to European R&D), or EU 7th framework program for research and technological development (FP7) project.

Audit

The RFID Center offers professional appraisal services to organizations that have already adopted RFID technology and now wish to assess their system in terms of performance, respect of technical standards (ISO, EPC), or adequacy of its privacy policies.

Training

The RFID Center organizes training programs for executives, managers and technicians who plan to be involved in the deployment or management of an RFID based system. Flexible modalities allow for the organization of seminars and course sessions either at the TechnoArk in Sierre or at the client's own premises. The RFID Center issues personalized certificates confirming the attendants' gained competences.
